Maloney Says He’s Raised $925K
Democratic Congressional candidate Sean Patrick Maloney says he’s raised more than $925,000 in the third fundraising quarter of 2012 nad has $825,000 on hand to take on GOP Rep. Nan Hayworth in the final month of the general election.
Maloney has raised a total of more than $1.6 million.
Those top line figures, released this morning, do not take into consideration the resources being sent to the raise on Maloney’s behalf, including SEIU and a super PAC being funded by the son of financier George Soros.
“Congresswoman Hayworth went to Washington and voted with the Tea Party to end Medicare,” said Sean Patrick Maloney. “Seeing folks send $5 or $10 to help us in our fight to protect Medicare, strengthen the middle class, and stand up for women’s health is incredibly powerful. Together, we’ll put the Tea Party on notice and get the Hudson Valley back on the right track.”
A Siena College poll last month showed Hayworth leading Maloney by a double-digit margin, but the poll was made before the Working Families Party’s placeholder candidate dropped out and the line was given to the Democrat.
