Slaughter Raises $730K In Q3
Rep. Louise Slaughter has raised more than $730,000 in the third fundraising quarter, her campaign is set to announce later this morning.
Slaughter, a Democrat from Monroe County facing a stiff challenge from Republican County Executive Maggie Brooks, has raised more than $1.8 million total for her re-election effort.
A formal FEC filing is due to be released on Oct. 15.
The Slaughter campaign says it has received more than 6,400 contributions and the average individual donation is less than $70.
“I am so gratified by the overwhelming grassroots support for my campaign,” Slaughter said in a statement. “This strong fundraising report and the recent Siena poll show our message of creating jobs here at home while protecting Medicare from cuts is clearly resonating with voters.”
The campaign has veered negative, with Slaughter and Brooks trading accusations of corruption and ineffectiveness respectively in stream of TV ads and mailers.
