One’s a Democrat, the other’s a Republican, but both are teaming up for a good cause.

Former Gov. David Paterson and Utica-area Sen. Joe Griffo are appearing in a television ad for the lawmaker’s “dark dining” event — a fundraiser for the Central Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired.

There are the requisite jokes about the Yankees and, of course, New Jersey.

Paterson and Griffo are perhaps the funniest guys to come out of Albany (Griffo, the former mayor of Rome, is a master impressionist).
