The Perks Of Being The Press Secretary
With Josh Vlasto on his honeymoon (congrats, by the way!), New York City press aide Matt Wing has been enlisted to take his place as Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s go-to spokesman.
While the job does have its share of headaches (gubernatorial spokespeople get to deal with two different and equally aggressive press corps in the city and upstate), it also has its perks.
Wing accompanied Cuomo to a fundraiser for his 2014 re-election effort at Yankee Stadium Wednesday night to watch Game 3 of the ALDS — which featured not one, but two Raul Ibanez home runs, including a game-winning walk off. About 60 people attended the event, which was held on the suite level at the ballpark.
The total cost for tickets and food at the event was $39,000, but no dollar amount raised was immediately available.
Wing sent along this quote:
“I have to thank Josh Vlasto for choosing to go on his honeymoon the week the campaign got a private box at a Yankee’s playoff game that went to extra innings. I hope he is having fun in Greece.”
Vlasto, for the record, I believe is a Mets fan.
