Unshackle Upstate, the Rochester-based pro-business group, is launching a new mail campaign today in a trio of hotly contested Senat races across the state.

The group, which has largely backed GOP state Senate candidates, is sending out mailers on behalf of candidates Mark Grisanti, George Amedore and Sean Hanna.

The mailers advertise the candidates’ high ratings from the group, based on their legislative voting record.

A sample line from the pro-Hanna mailer:

“Since arriving in Albany, Sean Hanna has been fighting to support job creation and protect taxpayers.”

The mailers, coming less than a month before Election Day, show the possible contours of what may be close races. The Amedore race, in the newly created 46th Senate District against Democrat Cecilia Tkacyzk, could wind up being much closer than expected, though that race has received little attention outside of the Albany area.

All of the mailers are after the jump.

The Senate Republicans this election cycle have sought to portray themselves as the pro-business, pro-tax cap force in the Legislature, while also cozying up to Gov. Andrew Cuomo and his solid approvaling rating.
