AARP’s Lane on Fiscal Cliff Concerns
Congress members are heading home for the holidays without a deal to avoid the fiscal cliff of tax hikes and spending cuts set to take effect on January first.
That leaves them with only a few days to make a deal – and the AARP is concerned that the rushed time table could mean cuts to social security that could cause hardship for many New Yorkers. This week, they released a detailed county by county analysis of cuts being proposed in Washington. AARP National Policy Council member Neal Lane explains.
