Sen. Gianaris on the Senate Democrats’ Next Move
The Democrats may still be able to win a numerical victory in the state Senate, but the deal between the Independent Democratic Conference and the Republicans means they will not be in charge of the chamber – no matter how many seats they technically control.
Sen. Mike Gianaris, who heads the DSCC and has a contentious relationship with IDC leader Jeff Klein, is concerned about the future of progressive legislation like a minimum wage hike – despite pledges from Klein et al to get it done.
