The legislation is named after Emergency Medical Technician Mark Davis, who was shot and killed while responding to a call back in 2009. The bill would put into place stiffer penalties for those who kill emergency responders. Assemblywoman Addie Russell is the sponsor of Mark’s Law, and she’s made some changes to it since last year.
