Frack Action’s Walsh on Public Opinion of Hydrofracking
The Department of Environmental Conservation is now reviewing the hundreds of thousands of new comments on the hydrofracking review process.
Opponents submitted letters by the boxful expressing their concerns. And now, they are pointing to last week’s Siena poll as evidence that most people are not convinced allowing high volume drilling is the right decision for the state. Forty-four percent of voters polled said they are against the idea, compared to 40 percent who support it. Frack Action’s Julia Walsh discusses the new numbers.
