Gianaris: $1.5M In The Bank
Deputy Senate Minority Leader Mike Gianaris has a combined $1.5 million in cash in his two campaign accounts following a campaign season in which the Democratic conference claimed victory in several key races.
Though a coalition of Republicans and five Democrats denied the Democrats an outright working majority, Gianaris pointed to the success in flipping the seat held by the now retired Republican Sen. Jim Alesi in the Rochester area with Ted O’Brien and holding a seat held by Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer with Sen. George Latimer.
Gianaris, who stays in charge of the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee, contributed $400,000 to the committee, along with $129,000 in direct contributions to candidates.
DSCC’s debt remains at $1.26 million, but has been reduced by $1.7 million.
One race that Democrats focused on remains undecided: the 46th Senate District race between Republican George Amedore and Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk continues to be battled out in court.
