Schneiderman, DiNapoli Top Lines
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is reporting $2.8 million his campaign account after raising $1.4 million during the most recent filing period.
The numbers put Schneiderman ahead of where former Attorney General Eliot Spitzer was at a comparative point in his first term in office. By this time in 2001, Spitzer had raised $480,000 and had a closing balance of $1 million.
Andrew Cuomo, who in 2009 was gearing up for a run for governor, had $5.6 million in the bank and had raised $3 million.
His fellow statewide elected official, Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, raised $598,033 and has a closing balance of $696,786. He began the fundraising period with $280,699 in cash on hand.
