Sen. Gallivan on Education Aid for Rural and Suburban Districts
After years of cuts, some school districts in New York are starting to see their state aid go up again.
But Sen. Patrick Gallivan, a Buffalo-area Republican, is concerned that low-income districts in suburban and rural areas are still not getting their fair share.
Gallivan and his upstate GOP colleagues (and IDC member Dave Valesky) have written to Governor Cuomo, asking him to take some of the funding currently set aside for competitive grants and use it to help these districts.
Gallivan explains his request.
