Tuesday will be a day of protests and counterprotests for and against a law that was approved nearly a month ago.

A rally supporting January’s gun control law will be held at the Capitol the same day as firearms advocates will descend on Albany to protest it.

The group, One Million Moms 4 Gun Control, will gather at 10:30 a.m. outside the Capitol and later culminate with a news conference at the million dollar staircase.

Meetings with individual lawmakers will be held later in the day.

The rally comes as Senate Republicans say they will introduce chapter amendments to the law in order to clarify pieces of the measure, including a carveout provision for law enforcement.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a radio interview today with Susan Arbetter that those who oppose the law are in a “vocal minority.”
