A month can be a lifetime in politics and Januray was a prime example of that. New York welcomed a new governor who laid out an aggressive plan for setting the state on the path to prosperity. The nation collectively struggled to come to terms with senseless violence that claimed 6 innocent lives and touched off national dialogue about civility, security and gun control. And, Upstate enjoyed some time in the spotlight during a presidential visit that set the stage for his State of the Union Address.
